Club Night Information

Yeronga Park Swim Club – Club Night

Come and join everyone from the Yeronga Park Swim Club down at the Yeronga Park Swimming Complex for Club Night!

Our first club night of the season is usually in October (date is to be confirmed) and thereafter each Wednesday fortnight through to the end of February. The Club does take a break over the Christmas and New Year period.

Racing commences at 6.15pm and finishes at approximately 7.30pm. We like to try and start marshalling swimmers from 6:05pm.

This is where we provide races for all our swimmers from novice through to State and National level. It also provides swimmers with an opportunity to show their parents and coaches, newly learnt skills in a racing situation. All races are swum in a friendly non-threatening environment. We endeavour to organise races according to each swimmer’s level. Boys and girls swim together for points, according to their times.

Marshalling

We announce each event that we need the swimmers to marshall for and ask that they go promptly to the marshalling area. We like to try and start marshalling swimmers from 6:05pm.

Volunteering is required

On club night we need help with timekeeping and other official duties.  Our Club Coordinator will be more than happy to teach you how to timekeep etc.  All assistance is greatly appreciated and it allows you, as parents to become involved in your child’s sport and it is a fantastic way to get to know everyone.

BBQ Dinner Available on Club Nights

Each club night we have a barbecue that has been a major fundraiser for a number of seasons. We invite club members and parents to come along and assist with our BBQ.  If everyone can help at just one or two club nights during the season the burden will be shared.  Food and drinks will be available from around 5.15pm – 7.00pm each club night.
